This piece depicts two young black boys (my twin cousins) and sets them amongst an abstracted scene of some of Charleston’s unique characteristics. This symbolizes the foundation that the city can lay for the youth when equal opportunities are afforded. Excellence is a process, and can come from humble beginnings. There’s greatness inside each of us when we enter this earth. Here, is where black excellence begins and can grow.
